Pertolongan pertama saat tersedak

Foodlovers pernah mengalami tersedak? Buat yang pernah pasti rasanya gak enak banget kan

Gejala yang dialami ketika seseorang tersedak adalah batuk, muntah, sinyal tangan (biasanya menunjuk ke arah tenggorokan), tidak bisa berbicara, sesak nafas atau nafas berbunyi dan respons alami tubuh adalah biasanya tangan langsung memegang tenggorokan.

Tersedak juga bisa terjadi jika seseorang minum atau makan dengan cepat atau terburu-buru dan dalam jumlah yang banyak, saat makanan secara tidak sengaja terhirup ketika sedang tertawa atau menangis dan keracunan alkohol akut terutama saat kemampuan menelan dan mengunyah sudah lemah.

Pertolongan pertama yang bisa dilakukan saat orang tersedak adalah:

1. Tanyakan apakah dirinya tersedak sesuatu, jika masih bisa menjawab dengan jelas maka cukup dampingi saja. Tapi jika tidak bisa menjawab pertanyaan tersebut segera berikan pertolongan.
2. Jangan berikan minuman apapun, karena cairan yang masuk tersebut bisa menghambat udara.

3. Berdirilah di belakang orang tersebut dan letakkan tangan kita di sekitar perut, buatlah kepalan dengan satu tangan dan ibu jari berlawanan dengan perut sementara tangan lainnya menggenggam kepalan.
4. Dengan gerakan tajam tekan tangan ke atas dan ke dalam perut untuk mengeluarkan benda asing tersebut dari dalam tubuh.
5. Sebuah tepukan di bagian punggung atau di tulang dada bisa menyebabkan batuk dan mengeluarkan benda tersebut. Benda asing ini harus dikeluarkan dari hypopharynx atau laryngopharynx, karena merupakan bagian dari tenggorokan yang terhubung ke kerongkongan.
6. Jika benda asing tersebut tidak bisa dikeluarkan dari dalam tubuh, segera larikan ke rumah sakit, sebelum orang tersebut kehabisan nafas

Sembuhkan Pilek Dengan Air Garam

Satu lagi keunggulan garam, yaitu bisa menyembuhkan pilek. Kok bisa? Bagaimana caranya? Simak penjelasan berikut ini ya.

Pada dasarnya, pilek adalah penyakit yang bisa sembuh dengan sendirinya (self limiting disease). Namun walaupun dapat sembuh dengan sendirinya, berkumur dengan larutan garam dapat mengatasi gejala-gejala yang sering mengganggu, seperti batuk dan sakit tenggorokan. Namun jika tidak ingin terlalu tergantung pada obat-obatan, ada cara untuk meredakan gejala pilek (common cold) seperti batuk, bersin-bersin dan sakit tenggorokan. Bahan yang dibutuhkan sangat sederhana, cukup menggunakan garam dapur saja.

Larutan garam dapur bersifat menarik cairan sehingga bisa mengeluarkan kelebihan cairan di daerah tenggorokan yang mengalami radang. Bukan hanya akan mengurangi radang, garam juga akan meredakan rasa sakit yang ditimbulkannya. Selain itu, larutan garam juga akan mengencerkan lendir maupun dahak yang menyumbat saluran pernapasan. Lendir yang encer akan mudah dikeluarkan, sehingga bisa membawa zat-zat penyebab alergi dan bahkan jamur atau bakteri jika ada infeksi.

Untuk hasil terbaik, sebaiknya kita melarutkan setengah sendok teh garam dalam segelas penuh air hangat. Gunakan untuk berkumur selama bebrerapa detik sebelum dikeluarkan, lakukan sebanyak 3 kali sehari. Jika tidak suka dengan rasanya yang terlalu asin, garam juga bisa diganti dengan lemon atau madu.

Berbagai Cara Hilangkan Cegukan

Banyak cara dilakukan orang untuk berusaha menghilangkan cegukan. Secara teoritis, prinsipnya adalah dengan mengupayakan adanya menginterupsi lengkung refleks cegukan. Berikut ini beberapa cara yang kerap dilakukan :
Kadar karbon dioksida yang tinggi dalam darah dapat melumpuhkan cegukan. Caranya, adalah dengan bernapas dalam sebuah kantong kertas. Tiup dan hirup sebanyak 10 kali dengan cukup kuat sampai wajah memerah.Lakukan dengan cepat, dan usahakan kantong kertas tertutup rapat sehingga tidak ada udara yang masuk ke dalamnya… Jadi udara yang dihirup adalah udara yang banyak karbondioksidanya.
Tehnik lain meningkatkan kadar karbondioksida adalah dengan menahan napas selama mungkin, lalu menelan ketika cegukan dirasakan akan datang. Lakukan sebanyak 2-3 kali kemudian tarik napas dalam dan mulai lagi.
Ada pula yang menyarankan menahan napas selama mungkin kemudian keluarkan dan tahan selama mungkin. Atau dengan menahan napas dengan kepala tengadah.
Menelan satu sendok teh gula pasir kering dapat menghentikan cegukan dalam beberapa menit. Diduga, gula dalam mulut akan mengirimkan sinyal melalui serabut saraf yang akan mengganggu lengkung refleks cegukan.
Minum air dalam posisi membungkuk, melakukan pijatan ringan dengan jari telunjuk pada kedua sisi leher, tarik napas dalam lalu minum 10 tegukan air saat tidak bernapas, membungkuk sampai jari tangan dapat menyentuh ibu jari kaki selama 60 detik serta masih banyak lagi tehnik yang dapat dilakukan untuk menghilangkan cegukan.
Bila cegukan tak hilang juga dalam beberapa jam atau bahkan hari, maka pertolongan medis seperti penggunaan obat-obatan sudah diperlukan. Beberapa obat yang dapat digunakan untuk menghilangkan cegukan diantaranya adalah chlorpromazin, metoclopramid, baclofen, antikonvulsan (fenitoin, asam valproat, carbamazepin) juga obat lain seperti quinidine, amitriptilin dan marijuana.
Tentunya penggunaan obat-obatan ini harus dengan petunjuk dokter, sebab obat-obatan tersebut juga memiliki efek samping yang perlu diwaspadai.

Tips Membuat Crispy French Fries

Kentang termasuk sumber karbohidrat layaknya nasi. Mungkin ini salah satu alasan kebanyakan bangsa Eropa menjadikan kentang sebagai menu utama. Dengan sedikit variasi serta kreasi kentang dapat disajikan sebagai makanan alternatif pengganti nasi.

Selain karbohidrat, kentang juga memiliki serat, air, lemak, protein, vitamin dan mineral yang baik untuk kesehatan tubuh. Bagi yang ingin menurunkan berat badan, dapat mengkonsumsi kentang sebagai menu utama.

Untuk membuat kentang goreng crispy pilih kentang yang memiliki bentuk yang hampir teratur, warnanya masih asli, dan teksturnya masih keras. Kupas kulitnya hingga bersih, kemudian di cuci dan direndam dengan air yang telah dicampur dengan kapur sirih dan garam. Diamkan selama 2 jam. Angkat kemudian cuci hingga bersih.

Penggunaan air kapur dalam rendaman untuk membuat kentang sedikit mengeras. Sementara garam digunakan untuk memberikan rasa gurih pada kentang. Untuk menggoreng, gunakan minyak panas dengan jumlah yang banyak. Agar hasilnya memuaskan, goreng kentang setengah matang kemudian angkat. Diamkan sebentar kemudian goreng kembali hingga kering. Proses ini dilakukan untuk membuat kandungan air dalam kentang menghilang.

Ambil satu buah kemiri lalu bakar hingga gosong. Kemudian tumbuk kemiri hingga halus dan ambil minyaknya. Oleskan minyak kemiri ke alis menggunakan korek kuping.  Oleskan pagi hari dan biarkan hingga sore, atau oleskan malam hari dan diamkan hingga pagi. Lakukan secara rutin setiap 2 hari sekali.

Dalam ilmu pangan, gejala itu dinamai browning atau pencoklatan. Yaitu, terbentuknya warna coklat pada bahan pangan secara alami atau karena proses tertentu. Yang pasti bukan akibat zat warna.
Pada kelompok makanan tertentu, seperti pada produk bakery (berbagai roti, snack, kacang-kacangan, daging panggang, kopi, teh, dan pada permen coklat) browning umumnya diminati. Sebaliknya, pada kelompok buah-buahan seperti apel, pir, salak dan juga kentang, proses pencoklatan itu nampaknya tak dikehendaki.
Pencoklatan pada buah apel dan buah lain setelah dikupas disebabkan oleh pengaruh aktivitas enzim Polypenol Oxidase (PPO), yang dengan bantuan oksigen akan mengubah gugus monophenol menjadi O-hidroksi phenol, yang selanjutnya diubah lagi menjadi O-kuinon. Gugus O-kuinon inilah yang membentuk warna coklat.
Untuk mencegah terbentuknya warna coklat pada buah-buah itu, kita dapat melakukannya dengan cara blanching atau pemanasan. Caranya, setelah dikupas dan dipotong-potong, buah apel direndam dalam air panas (suhu 82 -93 derajat Celcius) atau dikenai uap air panas selama 3 menit. Selanjutnya, direndam dalam larutan vitamin C, dengan ukuran 200 miligram per liter (dalam 1 liter air diberi tablet kecil vitamin C). Maksudnya, untuk menonaktifkan enzim penyebab pencoklatan itu. Dengan demikian Anda akan mendapatkan apel yang tetap segar penampilannya dan memperoleh tambahan vitamin C dalam buah tersebut.

Facial Dengan Gula? Unik dan Bersih

Siapapun pasti ingin memiliki kulit wajah yang sehat dan bersinar. Namun sayangnya, tidak semua perempuan tahu bagaimana cara mendapatkan kulit cantik. Padahal ada langkah mudah dan murah untuk merawat kulit wajah, yaitu dengan melakukan facial dari bahan dasar gula. Proses pengelupasan atau exfoliating ini diyakini dapat membantu kulit Anda terlihat lebih cerah dan berseri-seri.

Bahan :1 sdm gula pasir atau brown sugar.  Bersihkan wajah Anda terlebih dahulu dari sisa-sisa make up dengan menggunakan pembersih wajah.  Angkat pembersih wajah dengan menggunakan washlap lalu aplikasikan toner pada kulit wajah untuk membersihkan sisa-sisa pembersih yang masih tertinggal.

Campurkan 1 sdm gula pasir atau brown sugar dengan pembersih wajah yang biasa Anda gunakan. Kemudian oleskan pada wajah sambil melakukan pijatan lembut dengan gerakan melingkar. Lakukan pemijatan ini selama 5-10 menit  Diamkan wajah selama kurang lebih 10 menit. Bilas bersih wajah Anda untuk menghilangkan sisa gula. Lalu lanjutkan membilas wajah dengan menggunakan air dingin untuk menutup pori-pori.
